Parkside students and staff have been celebrating some excellent results again this year within the new, more challenging GCSEs in a number of subjects.

Following three years of record-breaking results, we have been working hard to to increase the number of top grades achieved across the school, and also to support all students to achieve progress at least broadly in line with national averages.  This summer our students achieved both of these goals.  We were delighted to see a significant increase in the number of students achieving the new higher 9-7 GCSE grades, with achievements including 23% achieving grades 9-7 in Maths, 33% achieving grades 9-7 in Spanish and 31% achieving grades 9-7 in Computer Science. Students achieved the immensely impressive new grade 9 (top 50% of former A* grades) across the majority of subject areas.  Students also continued the trend of strong performance across vocational subjects with a 100% Level 2 pass rate in all subjects including an amazing 52% Distinction*/Distinctions grades in Health and Social Care.

We are delighted with how the vast majority of our students rose to the challenge of the uncertainty of the new GCSEs and achieved results across the curriculum of which they can be very proud.  Crucially, these results enable our students to progress to the next exciting steps of their education and training.  We wish them every success.

We are looking forward to starting the new school year with great confidence based on our successes and our learning from this first broader round of reformed GCSEs.
