I am delighted to welcome you to Parkside Community School.

We are a small 11–16 secondary school in Chesterfield that provides a broad and ambitious curriculum, full of high-quality and expertly planned learning experiences. Our curriculum is designed to give every student the knowledge, skills and personal growth they need to make the most of their talents and live life in all its fullness. We have high ambitions for all our students and encourage them to be the best version of themselves in everything they do.

Experience Life at Parkside

Our school is truly inclusive and focuses on the wellbeing and progress of every child to unlock potential.

Parkside is a truly inclusive school where the wellbeing and progress of every child is central to our work. We are a caring, nurturing and ordered community with an atmosphere of calm and purposeful learning. This ensures that our students feel safe and happy, while achieving excellent academic progress. Our highly qualified teachers set consistently high expectations, supporting and challenging young people so that they experience success every day. Over time, this allows our students to realise their ambitions and go into the world equipped to lead successful lives and make a positive difference to their communities.

Our school ethos centres on students caring about the choices that shape their futures. We recognise the different needs of students and value their unique contributions to our community. A wide range of extracurricular opportunities in sport, the arts, music and culture allow our young people to develop their interests, build confidence and aspire beyond their personal and academic goals.

We are proud of the high standards of behaviour and respect shown by our students. We expect them to value themselves and others, to be honest, and to act with integrity. Our pastoral programme is an enormous strength of the school, supporting both students and families, and enabling every child to feel secure and valued throughout their time with us.

Parkside Community School is also proud to be a member of the Embark Federation – a family of schools across Derbyshire committed to working together to create schools that truly ‘stand out’ in the heart of their communities. Over recent years, our Year 11 results have highlighted the success our students can achieve, with outcomes in many years placing us among the top performing schools in Derbyshire for academic progress.

Parkside is a brilliant school at the heart of a fantastic community. We greatly value the partnership between home and school and appreciate the support of parents and carers in ensuring children arrive ready to learn, equipped and motivated every day.

Please take a moment to explore our website and social media channels, where you will find the latest news and a real flavour of life at Parkside. If you would like to know more, we would be delighted to meet you and show you around our wonderful school.
