Have you previously taught English or maths and would like to give something back to your Chesterfield community?

Parkside Community School is inviting experienced educators — whether retired, recently left teaching, or taking a career break — to volunteer their time and expertise to support small groups of Year 11 students as they prepare for their GCSE exams. This is a chance to make a real difference in young people’s lives, offering guidance, encouragement, and subject knowledge in a relaxed and rewarding environment.

Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just want to help during the run-up to exams, your experience could be invaluable. We’re looking for passionate individuals who want to reconnect with the classroom, support local learners, and be part of a warm and welcoming school community.

Why volunteer?

  • Make a meaningful impact on students’ confidence and progress
  • Share your skills and experience in a flexible, supportive setting
  • Reconnect with education and enjoy the buzz of learning
  • Be part of a school that values community and collaboration

If you’re interested or would like to find out more, please contact us at 01246 273458 or srussell@parkside.derbyshire.sch.uk

Let’s work together to support the next generation – your time and expertise could make all the difference.
