Well done to our Y9s who played Swanwick Hall yesterday afternoon in the semi-final of the Derbyshire Cup. While the result was not what we hoped for and the match finished 5–2, this does not take away from what has been an outstanding achievement.
Getting to this stage of the Derbyshire Cup is a first for Parkside and is a huge credit to every student involved. Parkside were the only Chesterfield school to reach the knockout stages, let alone progress all the way to the semi-finals.
Throughout the game, the students showed real grit and determination, competing with courage, resilience, and belief in one another. The effort, teamwork, and commitment were clear to see, and the team continued to push and support each other right until the final whistle. That level of determination speaks volumes about their character's as both players and students.
We are incredibly proud of the attitude displayed and the way the students represented themselves and the school. This journey has been about far more than just results—it has been about growth, teamwork, and proving what is possible through hard work and dedication. You are a fantastic group of students, and this experience will stay with us as a genuine success story for Parkside.
Well done again on a brilliant cup run. Hold your heads high—you have all done yourselves and the school proud, we hope you enjoyed your breakfast this morning!
