Parkside Pastoral

The Parkside Support Centre Team are here to support students and their families with removing any barriers to learning, participation and belonging to our school community.

At Parkside, we are proud of our caring culture, where every young person is known as an individual and supported to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Each year group has a dedicated team of staff who provide guidance, encouragement and tailored support, ensuring that no child is ever left to face challenges alone. From bespoke wellbeing and intervention programmes to everyday conversations with staff who truly listen, we work hard to remove barriers to learning so that every student feels safe, valued and able to succeed. Positive relationships are at the heart of all we do, creating a school community where kindness, respect and support are the norm.

We understand that caring for a child goes beyond the school gates, which is why our pastoral support extends to parents and carers as well. Our staff are always ready to listen and offer help when families need it, whether that’s advice, reassurance or more practical support. Where appropriate, we can also liaise with external agencies to ensure every child receives the very best care and opportunities. At Parkside, pastoral care is not an add-on – it is central to who we are, and it underpins our commitment to helping every young person grow, achieve and flourish.

Positive relationships and collaborative ways of working between our Staff, Students, Families, Community and Professional Agencies form the solid foundation on which we build our support. It is critical that we all work together to offer the very best support. When this support takes place, we can significantly impact life chances for the good of all our young people and their families. We rigorously review and evaluate the impact of our work through weekly Impact Meetings. If any area of our work is judged as not to have positively impacted Students and/or their families we immediately identify and implement alternatives.

We encourage all Students and Parent(s)/Carer(s) to explore the Parkside Support Centre section of our website to ensure they are fully aware of the support we can offer.
