Parkside Community School – Uniform Guide

At Parkside Community School, we take pride in a smart and consistent uniform that reflects our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Community. Our uniform helps create a positive learning environment and ensures all students are prepared and ready to engage with school life.

Compulsory Uniform Items

• Blazer: Official Parkside Community School blazer with the embroidered school logo.
• Shirt: Plain white, long or short-sleeved, worn tucked in.
• Tie: Parkside Community School tie.
• Trousers
  • Boys: Black, tailored school trousers (no skinny, jeans-style, or stretchy materials).
  • Girls: Black, tailored school trousers or a black pleated, knee-length skirt.
• Skirt: Black, pleated, knee-length. Stretch or tight-fitting skirts are not permitted.
• Tights : Plain black tights must be worn with skirts.
• Shoes: Black, formal school shoes.
  • Trainers, canvas shoes, boots, or footwear with visible logos or coloured stitching are not allowed.
  • Shoes must be polishable and appropriate for the school setting.

Summer Uniform (Final Half Term)

During the final half term of the school year, students have the option to wear Summer Uniform. This allows for more comfort as the weather warms up:

• Girls can wear the black pleated knee-length skirt without tights (optional).
• Boys & Girls can wear black tailored school shorts instead of trousers.

Please note, these summer uniform adjustments are only permitted during the final half term and must meet the same standards of neatness and modesty as the regular uniform.

Uniform Expectations

• Students must wear the full uniform correctly at all times during the school day.
• Shirts should be tucked in and ties worn neatly up to the collar.
• Blazers are to be worn unless a teacher gives permission to remove them.
• Coats, hats, and scarves must be removed upon entering the school building.

PE Uniform Expectations

In addition to the PE Uniform poster section below, please see the additional clarifications/expectations from our PE department:

• Our PE uniform is comprised of:
  • Black tracksuit bottoms, leggings, or shorts
  • A Parkside embroided t-shirt
  • An optional Parkside embroided hoodie
  • Trainers
• Additional layers may be worn underneath your PE kit (e.g. thermal base layers), but a Parkside embroided PE shirt or hoodie must be the top layer
• PE kit is expected to be brought in for every PE lesson, even if you are injured/ill
• Sanctions will be issued if pupils do not meet kit expectations
